The Krebs Cemetery is also known as the Old Spanish Fort cemetery. It is near the Pascagoula River overlooking Krebs Lake. Many of the markers have French inscriptions, signifying the historical French influence in the State of Mississippi.
Fun Fact: All Hallows’ Eve may invoke thoughts of haunted houses and frightful old cemeteries, but during this season, watch for the historic tour that follows a tradition of honoring Jackson County’s ancestors by inviting the community to participate in a program of living history at the cemetery.
