he Lower Pearl River Valley Transportation Museum is located inside the Intermodal Transportation and Tourism Center and is open free to the public. The Transportation Museum depicts the history of transportation from the era of the railroad to the space shuttle and how it has influenced Picayune and Pearl River County. A number of items are currently in the museum that are not seen in everyday life, such as an old manual drill press, lanterns used for communication on the rail systems, the last steam whistle of Pearl River County, and a collection of old ticket stubs.
