The Scherer House was built around 1845. The style is Greek Revival Influence. It is one of only four early brick buildings in Biloxi and among the first to have been finished with scored stucco. Its stepped gables are a unique feature not usually found on the Gulf Coast, and its facade is the first fully-developed example of the four-bay, double-entrance plan which became popular in Biloxi. The House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 18, 1984. The present owner is Gulf South Engineers. (Source: The Buildings of Biloxi)
