The Picayune City Hall was built in 1939. The architect for this building was Mr. Wilfred Lockyer who also designed the interior of the chapel in the Titanic. At one time this Mississippi Historic Landmark housed all of the city offices including the library, police department, fire department, and justice court. Today many city offices are still located inside the building.
