Jay Hanna “Dizzy” Dean. (1910-1974), also known as Jerome Herman Dean, was an American professional baseball player.  He played in Major League Baseball as a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and the St. Louis Browns.  Dizzy was an all-star pitcher and Sports Broadcaster.  Dizzy kept his passion and excitement all of the way through his career.  He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1953.

 

The “Dizzy” Dean Gravesite is his final resting place. The Gravesite is located at a rest area on US Highway 49, in South Mississippi.

 

Fun Fact: He was known to say, “It ain’t braggin’ if you can do it!”
