The Infinity Science Center is a state-of-the-art science center of the Stennis Space Center-NASA. The amazing exhibits make INFINITY a fascinating place to visit and an inspiration for all ages. The booster of the most powerful rocket in history is on site and ready for its home in a new wing at INFINITY.
Guests can enjoy the Omega Flight Simulator, described as a “high tech thrill ride” in which you can experience the thrill of flight in a moving, high-definition theater. “Swamps to Space” shows Stennis Space Center’s beginnings in the marshes of Hancock County, along with recognition of the area towns displaced when the government invoked eminent domain in 1961. Film presentations are each half hour at Science on a Sphere immersive theater, with two screens showing 3D films of bird flight. Upstairs in the Space Gallery is a Shuttle flight deck with landing simulator and a mock-up of the International Space Station’s Destiny module, not to mention model planes, space suits, a moon rock, and a mid-century re-creation of German rocket scientist Wernher von Braun’s office that once overlooked Stennis from Stennis’ campus tower. The main floor also holds an inflatable dome where the Center shows films at intervals. If you love historical facts, there is even a binder with the names of the people who sold property in Stennis’ buffer zone.
Infinity’s PW Trail is part of the 101 mile Mississippi Coastal Heritage Trail, which runs from ISC to Pascagoula.
