Oakland School and Camp

Oakland School & Camp offers a five week summer program for children ages 7 to 13. The summer program is well suited for children with learning differences or those who simply need a summer’s worth of focus on reading, writing, and match to catch up or get a head start on the next school year. A great mix of academics and traditional summer camp fun, students receive approximately 3.5 hours of academic instruction including daily one-to-ones. The rigorous, yet fun, camp offers daily activities such as horseback riding, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, nature, and more.

Oakland School is a small co-ed boarding and day school that enables bright young children, ages 7-13, including those who may have learning differences, or organizational and study skills difficulties, to reach their academic and personal potential. Thanks to a success-oriented environment and time-tested methods, hundreds of students have successfully completed their time at Oakland and returned to mainstream education (Part of Oakland’s mission) since the school’s founding in the 1950s.

The school is located on the site of a former farm with 450 acres of rolling countryside in central Virginia, just eleven miles east of beautiful Charlottesville. Oakland’s peaceful country setting and nurturing environment allow for truly remarkable learning to occur.
